Enigin in Australia

Enigin - In The Land Down Under

Apparently many years ago Cornish miners saved Australia from financial collapse – so I was told recently by one of Enigin’s Australian Distributors. They were invited to Australia and were able to extract the minerals from under the ground through their mining know-how and technology.

This fits in so well with what Cornish based Enigin PLC is currently aiming to achieve. Not that Cornwall’s energy saving company is going to haul the Antipodeans from the brink of financial disaster, no but they do plan to save Australian businesses a bucketful of money through their energy saving know-how and technology!

Enigin have also been invited to travel to the other side of the world by UK Trade and Investment, a branch of UK government, to demonstrate what they can do for Australian business.

How will they match their former compatriot’s efforts? Not by digging for well hidden wealth and treasure but by filling holes rather than excavating them.

The holes Enigin are looking to fill are the fissures of energy wastage where commerce and industry see their wealth disappear in to. Enigin’s mission is to help companies, of all sizes, to become energy efficient and to stop throwing their profits into these black holes.

This all sounds like a worthy goal and seems an easy enough to say, but just like the initial wave of Cornish workers who turned up with their picks and engines, Enigin realise a lot of effort has to be put in and experience gained to reap the rewards.

The Cornish miners learned their skills over many, many years and were able to apply their innovative engineering, which they had developed at home, to dig into hard ground and rock in Australia. Enigin are no different, they also have been able to do the spade work at home in Cornwall and have, along with their experience, developed the technology to help modern day Australians to benefit, let alone the rest of the world.

It was the work that Enigin had done that led to the invite from UKTI after they visited Enigin’s stand at the Nemex - Sustainability Live exhibition in Birmingham, UK. The focus of the stand was a 50” plasma screen – or more correctly what was displayed on the screen. Enigin were exhibiting their impressive Eniscope Advanced Energy Meter and its equally impressive display software, which was drawing all eyes to the screen and its clear graphic display of energy use and historical energy data.

The Eniscope solution enables businesses to not only monitor and manage energy use but to become energy efficient by changing behaviour, highlighting where action can be taken because they are able to measure and see the energy being used on a clear, simple to read graphic display.

UKTI were impressed to see all this on the Enigin stand and they wanted to know if Enigin would be interested in joining their outward mission to Sydney. The answer was a succinct, YES. Now six months on and Enigin’s Commercial Director Tim McMahon has been shipped out to Australia – apparently like many of his forefathers, but that’s another story.

It’s not that Enigin are unknown down-under – on the contrary they have many successful distributors operating across the great expanse of Australia.

So why make this trip? Because the arrival of an Enigin representative on a UK government sponsored mission will raise the awareness of Enigin’s energy saving solutions to businesses throughout Australia.

“I have a business seminar set-up by one of our distributors which will see me presenting to businessmen from many diverse industries,” explained Tim.

“Engineering, abattoirs, retail, hotels and manufacturing to name but a few, with many other businesses represented,” he continued. “It’ll be a great opportunity to meet with these businessmen and help them see the benefits of turning to Enigin for energy saving solutions.”

Hundreds and no-doubt thousands, of Cornish miners emigrated to the southern hemisphere and their numbers must have been a major factor in the success they achieved. Enigin are only sending one man, but backed by the many distributors and also the reach of the modern media the impact could be the same.

“I will be speaking to ABC (Australian Broadcast Corporation) about the trip and what we can offer, and that will be a great opportunity for us to be able to get the word out about Enigin, it’s very exciting.”Tim also revealed: “I will also be releasing news of our new Eniscope Public Display, an exciting update of our current software which will greatly benefit businesses in Australia and globally.

“This new, simple to read, graphic display will be a help to so many businesses as they look to save money, jobs and profit margins, while reducing carbon emissions and helping in the efforts against climate change.” The exciting new Eniscope Public Display – which has been developed in Cornwall after many man-hours of research, development and intensive application, will be announced during Tim’s time in Australia and will be one of the highlights of the trip.

What the Cornish miners did many years ago allowed Australia to flourish and the effects of their efforts are still felt today – Enigin aim to do the same. Through their efforts they want to be able to help Australian companies to survive into the distant future through energy efficiency, these efforts will also help in reducing carbon emissions and the future of the planet.

The outcome could be even greater than the foundations laid down by those Duchy miners!

They were able to sustain a country for the future, with Enigin businesses can do the same for their enterprises and also help with the building blocks for a sustainable planet.
