Enigin News - "Outlook for Energy" Report Predicts 35% Energy Increase

ExxonMobil recently revealed the results of their annual Outlook for Energy Report with the results highlighting the need for energy efficiency.
Robert Gardner, ExxonMobil manager of energy and economics, revealed that annual growth of energy consumption will be by 1.2 percent resulting in the world consuming 35 percent more energy in the year 2030 than it did in 2005.
The report provides long-term, thorough overview of the trends in energy technology, emissions, supply, and demand.
The oil giant analysed data from about 100 countries so as to be able to develop the report. The report found that the growth of energy requirements from the emerging markets, which have been predicted to rise by 65 percent between 2005 and 2030, will account for the majority of the increased demand for energy worldwide.
The challenge worldwide is to reduce the environmental impact of energy use, meanwhile meeting the energy requirements of a growing world population. The report concludes this will only be possible if advancements in energy efficiency keep pace with growing demand.
ExxonMobil are convinced that the energy saved through energy efficiency application will be greater than that resulting from any other action with efficiency not only cutting costs, but also reduce emissions.
