Enigin News - Medvedev Wants Incentives For Russian Energy Efficiency

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev stated that amendments in the Russian environmental laws should be aligned with energy efficiency matters, at a meeting with Russian Minister of Natural Resources Yuri Trutnev.

Medvedev explained that these amendments in environmental legislation should be accompanied by measures to encourage businesses to invest in energy saving technologies, and to bring Russian production facilities up to the world standards.

The Russian President obviously wants his country to catch up with the rest of the world, providing a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to set up an Enigin energy saving business across Russia.

“Currently, the essential global subject is ‘green growth’, which means economic growth through using state-of-the-art environment-friendly and energy-efficient technologies, including alternative power sources.

This subject is topical for us as well. Amendments in the environmental legislation should be harmonized with the issue of energy efficiency,” Medvedev said.

“A mere stick will not suffice here. There should be a system of economic incentives, both advantages and sanctions. This is what we should proceed from,” he stressed.

According to the Russian president, measures should be taken to encourage businesses to invest funds in improving the general ecological situation, and companies should be interested in bringing their facilities on a par with the best world standards.

Enigin can provide the details that will prove that there are financial incentives for anyone using Enigin’s energy saving technologies, as they will see a rapid return on investment which also protects a company’s profit.
