Enigin News - Ermenkov wants Energy Efficency Focus in Bulgaria

TASKO Ermenkov, the executive director of the Bulgarian Energy Efficiency Agency (EEA), stated during the European Day of Energy Efficiency 2010:
“Energy efficiency is not fashionable and is not end in itself, but it brings improvement in the quality of people’s lives,
“The present assessment shows the energy consumption in Bulgaria is higher the average in the European countries,” Ermenkov said.
Bulgaria is one of many Eastern European countries that is waking up to the financial importance of energy efficiency.
Ermenkov is encouraging change in Bulgaria:
“There is a huge economic potential in energy saving.
“The key for the resolution of this problem is investment in and completion of energy efficient projects, plus the imposing of solid measures regarding the economics of energy efficiency in the construction and retrofitting of buildings.”
