Enigin News - China Take Hard Line on Energy Consumption

2010 is the final year of China’s 11th Five-Year Plan and hence all the targets of the plan have to be reached by the end of this year.
This includes the emission reduction goal and today, China expressed its determination to achieve the target.
The Minister of Industry and Information, Li Yizhong, stated the government is to implement iron-handed steps to guarantee to achieve the targeted emission reduction.
The Chinese government set a target to drop energy consumption per unit of GDP by 20 per cent, but over four years into the latest five year plan, the drop is sitting at 14 percent. The country is unlikely to be able to drop the required six percent during the rest of this year.
Hence China has decided to step up measures to cut emissions.
Li Yizhong has set a deadline of the end of June for all of China’s provinces to submit a list of failing corporations. Then by the end of July, the Chinese government will name and shame all failed corporations to the public.
Enigin Distributors in the region can help organisations and businesses to save energy consumption through real-time monitoring and the wise use of energy saving technology, preserving budgets and profits while avoiding governmental penalties.
The measures are so strong that the businesses who do not achieve the emissions and energy efficiency targets will be forced to shut down by the end of the third quarter.
Last year, due to China's economic recovery, energy consumption increased during the last third and fourth quarters and that pattern has been matched during the first quarter this year.
Another of the measures to reduce energy consumption, the Chinese Industry and Information Ministry has stated, that higher electricity prices and the suspension of new projects will be taken to achieve targets.
