Enigin News - ASE Call for Obama to Push for Energy Efficiency in Address

KATERI Callahan, President of non-profit energy efficiency organisation Alliance to Save Energy, encourages U.S. President to continue to push energy efficiency as he prepares his State of the Union Address.
Callahan states: “Energy efficiency strengthens the nation’s economy, spurs job growth and reduces dependence on imported energy – while also saving money for each and every American household and business.”
She explains that energy efficiency, “Remains the quickest, cheapest, cleanest way to enhance energy independence, extend domestic energy supplies and protect the environment.”
Referring to the bipartisan 'Shaheen-Portman bill' Callahan said it “Would increase energy efficiency across our economy by strengthening building energy codes, providing financing options for manufacturers and requiring the federal government to improve its energy management.”
Callahan is heartened by many of the efforts being made at state level: “Several states are taking the lead by updating building energy codes.”
But she highlights the importance of federal action: “Federal standards allow constituents to win by building energy efficiency into their purchases. Manufacturers win, too, by developing products for a single set of federal guidelines rather than a patchwork of state requirements.”
She concluded, stating: “The Alliance to Save Energy looks forward to working with the president and Congress to ensure that energy efficiency delivers the jobs, savings and economic growth that will contribute to America’s success story in 2012.”
Enigin Distributors across the U.S. will echo Callahan's words, providing evidence of the importance of energy efficiency tot he nation and individual businesses and organisations. Using technology and solutions from Enigin, decision makers take control of their energy use and cost while reducing CO2 emissions.
