Enigin News - A Bright Future for Intelligent Energy Efficiency Solutions

THE global research firm, Cleantech, has released comprehensive analysis of energy efficiency innovations in commercial buildings.
The report, titled “As Energy Efficiency Booms, Buildings Get a Brain”, has been produced through extensive research and interviews with leading businesses, investors and industry influencers.
Sheeraz Haji, president of Cleantech Group states,
“Commercial office buildings consume 40 percent of the electricity produced in the U.S. and 18% of total U.S. energy. Our analysis shows that energy efficiency is poised to overtake solar as a top investment category in 2010, and commercial buildings represent a prime target.
"Lower investment costs, financial incentives, and faster payback periods are fuelling product competition as data-driven technologies battle over the building’s brain."
The Cleantech report recognises that the market for efficiency innovations is changing. Now governments and investors are becoming more focused on energy performance within buildings, targets are being set for energy efficiency and performance monitoring, with money being poured into the sector.
The focus on performance is driving an invasion of information and communication technologies into buildings to enable greater visibility and control, as vendors compete to be the gateway to building intelligence.
The report also reckons that data-driven energy efficiency products and services look poised to grow, including low-powered Wi-Fi sensors, energy management software, building automation, and smart lighting and windows.
Enigin’s real-time energy monitor and management system Eniscope, along with it’s dynamic public display system, is one of the best ways to manage a buildings energy, and is very much an energy brain within a facility.
