Enigin - EIB Lends China Efficient Helping Hand

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending China €134 million to support 4 projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions by 830,000 tonnes.
Initiatives to encourage and sponsor energy efficiency improvements give businesses the opportunity to turn to companies such as Enigin PLC, who are able to provide the latest energy efficiency technology to businesses around the world.
Following the climate conference in Copenhagen last month, many countries have decided to take action to limit the effects of climate change by putting forward financial aids that will allow businesses to become energy efficient, save money and reduce their carbon footprint.
Enigin therefore have a key role to play, in providing business owners worldwide with the energy saving solutions most suited to their specific needs. With their wide range of energy saving products, Enigin are well placed to be able to satisfy even the most exigeant demands from customers, anywhere in the world.
For example, by allowing business owners to manage their energy consumption efficiently, Enigin give them the advantage of having a clear vision on just how much energy they need, use and waste.
For this, Enigin provide the Eniscope - a smart meter which comes with a fantastic display option allowing users to access information on their energy consumption in the form of full colored salient graphs, and in the language of their choice. The data the Eniscope collects can be accessed in real-time, from any PC, laptop or iPhone in the world, and the Eniscope's installation only takes a few minutes.
With Enigin PLC's Eniscope, business owners actually have a 24 hour virtual energy manager working for them.
Installations such as the ones Enigin can offer (for lighting, air conditioning, refrigeration and motors) will be chosen by the businesses who are being given the EIB loan, along with other energy saving and environmentally friendly solutions. A €31 million share of the loan will support a new hot-water based district heating system in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, which will reduce heat losses and electricity consumption by nearly 50% and water use by 16%.
A further €29 million of the loan will go towards financing a second project which aims to install a solar-powered, energy efficient street and building project in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province.
Meanwhile, €40 million will go towards ten small-scale hydropower plants, which will be capable of generating 62 MW for the Hubei Province city of Yichang, and €30 million to a chemicals plant in Qiaokou, which plans to use residual heat, waste gas streams and solid residues to produce energy.
The loans are part of the China Climate Change Framework Loan (CCCFL), which since November 2007 has provided €334 million in support for 20 projects. When all the funded schemes are operational, 1.57 million tons of CO2 emissions will be saved annually.
